Tettenhall Rotary Club & Tettenhall Inner Wheel Make Memory Café Donation
Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is committed to serving the local community through our various Outreach projects and facilities, one of which is our Memory Café for people affected by dementia.
We aim to reach as many people as possible with the magic of live music, free refreshments and a safe space to socialise with people in a similar situation. Music has been proven to have transformative affects on people living with dementia, helping to improve cognitive function, boost mood and behaviour and improve thinking and feeling. We therefore schedule a variety of genres such as Motown, Gospel, Bollywood, Bhangra, Music Hall and 40s-60s music with professional performers and are always looking to diversify our offering further, so that the nostalgic impact of the music can help everyone.
As a registered charity, the theatre relies heavily on corporate sponsorship and donations to make projects such as the Memory Café possible and keep them free to attend to ensure they are fully accessible.
For this reason, we are incredibly grateful to have received a generous joint donation from Tettenhall Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Tettenhall of £500 to support our dementia programme.
The Inner Wheel Club of Tettenhall kindly chose Grand Theatre Memory Cafés as one of their chosen charities of the year to raise funds for the dementia programme here at the theatre so we continue to be thankful for their ongoing support.

We arrive with a heavy heart but leave with a huge smile. In a nutshell, it’s like being given a great big hug. Thank you so much to everyone for making this possible, it really is a lifeline.
